About me

My name is Maximilien Dusautois, and I graduated from my Specialized Master’s degree in translation in June 2020. In January 2021, I decided to start freelancing to challenge my entrepreneur mindset and bring my personal touch and skills to the B2B translation market. My goals have always been to work with companies that respect my ethics and my standards so as to provide what is best for them. As for my ethics and standards journey, I have joined the SFT, Société française des traducteurs, a translator’s syndicate.
Fond of literature since I was a kid, I can usually be found reading a book or writing one. In September 2025, I decided it was time to add new skills to my arsenal, so I followed a creative writing and publishing master’s degree with the Catholic University of Lille for a year . During this year, I had the opportunity to become an intern at Lorestone, the first label publishing LitRPG books in France. This internship made me realize how much I wanted to work within the publishing world, either as an editor, a translator or a proofreader.
On a more personal note, I live in Lille with my husband, our roommates and one of the translator’s best friend, our cat, Adèle. In my freetime, you will find me working out, going on train trips and trekking. Apart from this, I usually spend the rest of my time reading (either published novels or ones that I am beta-reading), playing video games or DnD (Level 9, Grave Cleric or Level 8, or Oathbreaker Paladin, pick your fighter) or even baking. In other words, everything I like to do as a hobby, I like to work with!
Agence Polytropos is a micro-company (« entrepreneur individuel ») that was launched on January 2nd, 2021 under the name Hermès traduction.
